About
MY BACKGROUND
My story begins in Port Orchard, Washington, a small community that first shaped my understanding of local dynamics and social connections. As I pursued my educational path, I made a strategic move to Oregon, completing my college education online—a decision that reflected my commitment to learning and adaptability.
My academic journey has been driven by a deep fascination with social sciences and a genuine desire to understand the complexities of human society. I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Sociology, complemented by an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice. This educational path was more than just an academic pursuit—it was a deliberate exploration of how social systems impact individual lives.
A pivotal moment in my professional development was my internship with a local domestic violence agency. This experience was transformative, introducing me to critical concepts like trauma-informed work, the empowerment model, and the crucial importance of informed consent. Working directly with community members, I gained invaluable insights into the nuanced challenges faced by individuals navigating complex social systems.
My commitment to the criminal justice system goes beyond academic interest. I am passionate about contributing to a more equitable and comprehensible justice landscape. I see my role not as someone who will single-handedly transform the system, but as a dedicated professional committed to understanding its intricacies and working towards meaningful, incremental change.
When I'm not immersed in academic studies or professional development, you'll find me embracing the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast who finds renewal in nature, and a dedicated reader who believes in the power of continuous learning through diverse perspectives.
